The sovereign rights of God. This old term is almost forgotten by the new Protestant generation.

When the church is fulled of false teachings of positive thinking, visualization prayer, prospective theology, etc...etc...
If you pray hard enough, you can get whatever you want... You can shake God's hands every time...

Today, I want to share this with a hymn-It is well with my soul.

Shame on me! I find it is hard to believe.
When troubles come one by one.

How can I say that Father, you will is the best?
How can I say that Father, you are taking control?
How can I really trust God when He seems to be ridiculous?
How many times that I want to take control?

And then look at the 2000 years Christian faith.
The faith that Horatio Spafford hold.
Even God's people in the old testament hold that faith:

¹⁷ If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us^[c] from Your Majesty’s hand. ¹⁸ But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” (Daniel 3:17-18)

What kind of believe can sustain a man's faith in such a harsh environment, and still say "It is well with my soul."?

The sovereign rights of God.

May His will be done, His will is the best. We have to try our best and leave the rest to the Lord. Even if we do not success, Trust in Him and praise Him! Even if He does not help, He is still the same God!

If we do not deeply believe in the sovereign rights of God, we can never have true rest and peace.

My LORD. “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”(Mark 9:24)

Dear My loving God,
Can you see how much that I love You?

My mum, see how much that I love you? Even though I always do not want to listen to you and do what you say.

My dad, see how much that I love you? Even though I do not care if I really understand what you mean.

My daughter, see how much that I love you? I know you want this doll. But I will pretend to hear that you want a toy car. Cause my love tells me that’s what I want you to have!

My partner, see how much that I love you? Although I do not really care what you feel, I only want to have what I desire. I don't care if I know the real you or not.

My son, see how much that I love you? I never tell you what wrong with you. Because…I have to speak the truth in love …Because…You will hate me…Because it will break the union of our family...
When you do wrong, I only always say" Peace...peace..."

My beloved favourite dish, see that I really love you? When I praise how “yummy” that you are.
I say that with a dying voice.

And I want to tell everyone---Although, I love them all that much, I love my God even more! My God, I want to use the same love to love You. And I want to love You even more. That’s why:

Just like that I love my Mum; I do not want to follow your orders. I merely hear your Word, and I do not want to do what it says.

Just like that I love my dad and my daughter; I do not care whether I twist the actual meanings of Your Word (Your Bible).

My God, Do you know when sometimes Your Scriptures are hard to be accepted, and my desire tells me that I should have my own opinions. That’s why I twist Your Word in and by a lot of ways.

Oh my God, sometimes I know Your Bible means or has a great chance to mean not what I like. But since I do not like what it means. So I pretend I do not understand what You mean and ask for. You know that is the love I use to love my daughter.

Just like that I love my partner; I do not want to do your works according to Your wills. I do them according to my desire.

As long as any things work for your Church, I bring them in, even though they are unbiblical, but they work!
Even through You ask us to do Your works according to Your Word, What they are? Positive thinking…Unbiblical teachings…New doctrines... a lot more …a lot more…

Or even I did not bring them in, I allow them in Your Church.You should feel my love! Cause they are for Your own good! I want more and more people in Your Church!

Just like how much I love my son, I never tell what’s wrong of him, so do I never tell my brothers and sisters in Christ if they sin against You. Because…I have to speak the truth in love…Because…they will hate me…Because it will break the union of us…

Cause I love You that much, God...
I never hurt anyone. When there are not peace, I still tell people to be peaceful. Even they sin against You, even they do not do things according to Your wills. Always peace! I have to make them feel good.

God, maybe my loves to You so far are even too much for You.
I should love you as I love my favourite dish. I love you that much, so… when I worship you, I sing like a dying man, you merely hear my voice. God, see how much that I love you?

Everyone! Come, I have to show you how much that I love my God.Not Just My God should know how much I love Him.

I have to speak to everyone loudly, not in shame!That how much I love God!

Although an unbeliever does sacrifice for his lover, I do not. But his love has nothing compared to mine to God. I feel I love God and that why I love Him! See my feeling!?
Who care of what He really means? Who care of whether if I really love Him?

I FEEL that I love Him! My God!

I am not in shame to tell everyone I love You in the same ways of I love others as above.

Do not judge! I love my Feelings, I love my desire; I love myself that much. But I have to tell others how much that I love You-my God!

By the one who does not care what is love.

If it is Scripture Alone, then why the historical Christianity views are important?

We know that as true believers have God- the Holy Spirit lives in us as a seal of our salvation. (Eph1:13). He also guides the true believers to understand His Word (into all the truth). (John 12:13)

Do you really think that the Holy Spirit did not guide the historical Church to understand the Bible? 

Do you mean that throughout the history:

Although our siblings spent their whole lives, in the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to try hard to understand the Bible, they totally missed the true meanings of the Bible. Until modern days, a lot of people open the Bible and say” the Bible means that.” However, their views are far different to the historical Christianity’s. 

Do you think that the Holy Spirit did not help or guide them to understand the Bible, but since our generation is that special, so that He reveals the hidden biblical truth to us, which are completely different to the historical Christianity’s views?

I am not saying the historical Christianity’s views are always correct. they can be wrong. In fact, the early Church-fathers, Augustine, Martin Luther all made big mistakes, but the big mistakes of the great men’s wrong teachings have been corrected ,according to the Bible. And the rest of their teachings had been once and once again proved correct.

Do you realise that before you judge their teachings, you at least have to study why the Church has the views for so many years. Do you think that you must have a strong reason to prove that why a lot of great man did not see what you see?

Before you believe the interpretations of your own view; have you looked at the historical Christianity to see why other brothers and sisters would have to understand the Bible in the same way, why the fundamental teachings accepted by different denominations are generally the same? Does it seem to be a signal that God guided his people and protect His truth throughout the historical Christianity?

Some doctrines of the Church were the results of years’ debated. Did not you think the Holy Spirit did not participate in the Church meetings? I agree that some doctrines are really hard to be accepted, like the doctrines of the hell. Like the doctrine that Martin Luther called it “the very concentrated alcohol and the real food for strong men”. (I will mention what it is later.)

If it is not a strong enough reason to convince you, why do not you think in this way? Why 100 years passed, 200 years passed, and 300 years, for man really studied the Bible, they find small differences in understanding the biblical truth, but they all agreed with each others in the fundamental doctrinal views? 

My brothers and sisters, if you find out what you believe cannot be connected to the Apostles’, you should doubt what you are believing. 19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. (Ephesians 2:19-20)

Wake up. There are no new doctrines which have not been revealed by the Holy Spirit to us until modern days. If people say they discovered there are new doctrines, it has a great chance that they, instead of hearing what the Bible says, twist the Bible to suit their own desire, make up something to which they want to hear; to hide the truth of God.

Beware of false teachings; this is the time of 2Timothy4:3-4 -

3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

What’s wrong with the four spiritual laws—to claim heretics saved?

In the historical Christianity, many were given false hope that they must be saved because of the infant baptism. Nowadays, people believe they must be saved because they were told that because they prayed a prayer to receive Christ one day-they are saved.
The four spiritual laws is one of the most known tools for sharing the gospel, that’s why I use it for an example (4 laws in the rest of the article). It, however, reflects how the false teachings are taught in the Church of Jesus Christ, but not so many are aware of the serious problems that it has caused. I have to make it clear in the beginning, I believe someone really was saved through believing the message of 4 laws, but not everyone.

First of all, for those who have been using the four spiritual laws for a long time, I believe that if the Holy Spirit does not work on you, you may not want to hear or accept what I am going to tell you. Secondly, for those who say the four spiritual laws is just a tool and it does not matter it contains false teachings. My question is: Would you use a two sharp ends needle? Does it not matter if it keeps hurting your fingers? Do you possibly say that is just a tool for knitting, even your fingers are bleeding? Would a wise man do that?

Secondly, for those who did not realise the problem, my suggestion is whenever you know the truth: stop doing wrong. Learn to do right; seek justice. (Isaiah 1:16-17)

Many people have given out judicious views of what wrong, according to their theological base, with the four spiritual laws. And that’s why another theological camp has an excuse to argue “I do not see the bible means that.” Although God will one day judge those people (from both camps) who spread out false teachings, I do not intend to judge these laws in the same way.
I would rather judge the 4 laws by the Christian faith, with which every Christian must agree. So, NONE can argue according to their theological standard. (To those who say do not “judge”, please allow me to explain Should Christian judge later. read John 7:24). You are more than welcome to go through your four spiritual laws anytime when you doubt my message.

It is a warning: Whoever opposes the three points below from your heart, basically telling yourself that you are not a true believer of Christ (not saved). However, there is a difference between lack of basic knowledge and actually trying to oppose the following 3 points - believing a “god” who is not the one presented by the Bible:
(a) There is only one God.
(b) The Trinity of God.
(c) The two natures of Christ. Jesus is 100% God and 100% human.

If you do not understand them, please allow me to share the fundamental Christian Faith with you later. They are rulers of the church to tell whether someone is a true believer or not.

Now we go back to our topic:

Case 1:
Chong is a boy from China, studying in Australia now. He has never heard the gospel before, until one day someone gave him a 4laws, and he accepted every 4 laws teachings. He also prayed a prayer to invite Jesus as his Lord and saviour. However, He misunderstands there are two “gods”, one is the Father God, and another one is the Son of God.
Does he save? NO! Because He believes in the heretical teaching, there is no way he is saved.

Case 2:
Jacky did his high school in a Christian school, and he knew that Christians believe there is one God. He also knew that Christian believe Jesus is God; He knows the doctrine of Trinity. He thought, according to his “logic”, if Jesus is 100% God, so that he is not 100% human. He believed this “logic” without doubt. One day, he got a 4 laws booklet and accepted everything inside it. He also prayed a prayer to invite Jesus as his Lord and saviour.
Does he save? NO! Because he believes in the heretical teaching, there is no way he is saved.

What‘s wrong:
In both case above, two people accepted all teachings that the 4 laws presented. But there is no way that they can be saved. And the guarantee of 4 laws (false assurance of salvation) gave out false hope to them.
If the laws are right at this point, everyone who accepts the teachings in the laws and pray a prayer to invite Jesus into their heart must be saved. Do the 4 laws say that God misled those heretics? It is wired that God would guarantee the salvation of the heretics, isn’t it? Had God been a liar during the history to the heretics? Did he tell everyone who pray a prayer must be saved, but some of them were not?

Four spiritual laws reference:

Did you receive Christ into your life? According to His promise in Revelation 3:20, where is Christ right now in relation to you? Christ said that He would come into your life and be your friend so you can know Him personally. Would He mislead you? On what authority do you know that God has answered your prayer? (The trustworthiness of God Himself and His Word.) “

It implies the problems:
While we deny that God's self-revelation in Scripture is ever logically inconsistent, we also deny that finite minds will ever plumb the depths of all truths about God.
How do you except that, someone would know the Trinity of God without being told? Is it very possible that someone would misunderstand? If you are not sure the receivers of the 4 laws do not believe in another god (not trinity), how can you guarantee their salvation?
Which page of the four spiritual laws talks about there is only one God? What can you except someone to believe in the trinity but you do not mention that at all?

Repent and believe:
The mistakes of the 4 laws is not only that it gives out false guarantee and hope, but the core is: the assurance of the salvation has been taught for the last 2 thousands year of historical Christianity(true interpretations of the Bible), is not known by pray a prayer one day and you must be saved. The 4 laws is an example of 2 Timothy 4:3.

They way when you share the gospel should be: You tell someone how to be saved, but you never guarantee that they are saved. See the difference here?

‘Peace, peace,’ they say, when there is no peace. (Jeremiah 6:14)
How many people that were misled by the 4 laws, maybe even through you?

"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke:23:34)

The true Christianity teachings would never face the problems of the 4 laws face, because it does not guarantee one else’s salvation. The above problems only happen if someone attempt to twist the Bible to give out false hope of someone’s salvation:

How do I have the assurance of my own salvation?

We start to have a look of the false teachings. We will see how the false teachings have been giving false hope to us.

Timothy 4 ³ For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

1. “I believe that I believe Jesus and the gospel.” How do you know that your heart is not deceiving you? Maybe you do not believe?

The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it? (KJV Jeremiah 17:9)

2. “I prayed a prayer one time to ask Jesus into my heart.”

Really? I think if someone who does not believe in the gospel, even he prays 1000 times a day, he still cannot be saved. You become a Christian by believing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Not a prayer.

¹³ And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, ¹⁴ who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1 :13-14)

Are you sure that you really believe in the gospel?

3. “My Pastor/parent/young group leader guarantees my salvation”

No one can actually know what you believe, how can he honestly guarantee your salvation?

He started to get mad: Then how can I have the assurance of my own salvation?

Here are the true historical biblical teachings (not the false modern one) of how anyone know that whether he is saved. Beware whether you are saved, The Bible actually tells us there is a way, not because of someone else told you that you are saved.

Look at something old, the old and sweet biblical teachings.

Of Assurance of Grace and Salvation

I. Although hypocrites and other unregenerate men may vainly deceive themselves with false hopes and carnal presumptions of being in the favor of God, and estate of salvation[1] (which hope of theirs shall perish):[2] yet such as truly believe in the Lord Jesus, and love Him in sincerity, endeavouring to walk in all good conscience before Him, may, in this life, be certainly assured that they are in the state of grace,[3] and may rejoice in the hope of the glory of God, which hope shall never make them ashamed.[4]

This certainty is not a bare conjectural and probable persuasion grounded upon a fallible hope;[5] but an infallible assurance of faith founded upon the divine truth of the promises of salvation,[6] the inward evidence of those graces unto which these promises are made,[7] the testimony of the Spirit of adoption witnessing with our spirits that we are the children of God,[8] which Spirit is the earnest of our inheritance, whereby we are sealed to the day of redemption.[9]
III. This infallible assurance does not so belong to the essence of faith, but that a true believer may wait long, and conflict with many difficulties, before he be partaker of it:[10] yet, being enabled by the Spirit to know the things which are freely given him of God, he may, without extraordinary revelation in the right use of ordinary means, attain thereunto.[11] And therefore it is the duty of every one to give all diligence to make his calling and election sure,[12] that thereby his heart may be enlarged in peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, in love and thankfulness to God, and in strength and cheerfulness in the duties of obedience,[13] the proper fruits of this assurance; so far is it from inclining men to looseness.[14]
IV. True believers may have the assurance of their salvation divers ways shaken, diminished, and intermitted; as, by negligence in preserving of it, by falling into some special sin which wounds the conscience and grieves the Spirit; by some sudden or vehement temptation, by God's withdrawing the light of His countenance, and suffering even such as fear Him to walk in darkness and to have no light:[15] yet are they never so utterly destitute of that seed of God, and life of faith, that love of Christ and the brethren, that sincerity of heart, and conscience of duty, out of which, by the operation of the Spirit, this assurance may, in due time, be revived;[16] and by the which, in the mean time, they are supported from utter despair.[17]

The one who led me to accept Jesus Christ now renounces his faith. Am I saved?

Q2: The famous evangelist who led a lot to Christ now renounces his faith and changes the gospel.

Do those people who accept Christ in his meetings save?

We think in this way.

Case1

Mr.O, an atheist, intended to read the whole Bible and find out the faults of it, so he got a Bible from a Christian book shop and started to read it every day. A few months later, when he was reading the book of Matthew, he suddenly discovered that he believed the gospel.

Obviously, if he genuinely believes the gospel, we have no question that he is saved.

Case2

But what if, the story changes a bit in the beginning?

Another atheist Mr.P met a heretic in a bus stop. (Basically saying the heretic is not saved) The heretics handed him a new testament (NIV), it is a standard NIV without any change of contents (words). The heretic bought it from a Christian book shop.

Before the heretic had a chance to talk to him and handed to him the heretical teaching materials , the bus arrived. Mr .P got in the bus in rush with the Bible and left the heretic alone.

Since that night, Mr. P started to read the Bible every night. A few months later, when he was reading the book of Matthew, he suddenly discovered that he believed the gospel.

Is Mr. P saved? Does the fact that he receive the Bible from a heretic forbid him to be saved?

The true answer is: If he genuinely believes in Jesus Christ and His gospel. He is saved.

It does not matter who passed the Bible to him, as long as he genuinely believes in the pure biblical gospel presented by the Word of God, he is saved.

(P.s Be very careful. Please do not accept any religious stuffs from the heretics, although God can use the heretics to carry out his plan in a special way if He wants. A lot of time the contents of Bible are changed and the booklets present false teachings and false gospel. You cannot tell whether the Bible is a changed one or not. The materials are very poisonous.)

Case3

Similarly, C accepted Jesus Christ in a meeting which was in charged by a famous Pastor Q, who latter renounced his faith.

The fact that Pastor Q renounces his faith does not affect the salvation of C. C is saved if Pastor Q presented the pure and true gospel and C really believes the gospel Pastor Q presented.

Supplementary Case 4:(Added by Philip at 23 Nov2010 12:18 pm.)

If someone who hears the another gospel or heretical teachings from a heretic, and actually believes in what the heretic says:

For example: Jesus is not God.

There is no way this person can be saved.

We will talk more about what are heretical teachings in the soon future.

Now we answer the questions:

It is clear that the answer whether depends on if you heard the true gospel and genuinely believe it. However, It is worth to keep that in your mind, the one who told the gospel is possibly not saved (even he is a famous Pastor).

Your salvation is not based on anyone else relationship with God.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

How are you? For some of you, it is the first e-mail which you receive from me.

I believe that I am called to share the issues being misunderstood or even not mentioned in the Christians’ environment.

Do you have a wonderful live in Christ? Are you still wandering? From this week, I am sending out e-mails to discuss the un-talked topics.

This is the message of this week, I want to invite you to spend 10 to a quarter to read and think of it.

It will give you a brief understanding of why I have to send out the emails.

Can you see what I see? Can you see my pricked heart? The picture in the day of Hosea becomes our picture. God’s people are lack of knowledge.

Some of you might have more abundant bible knowledge than mine; some of you might be enjoying a close and wonderful relationship with God.

May God continuous to bless you! But please allow me to speak to those who are in need.

If you are not one of those who turn your ears away, please bear with my unattractive speech skill; please bear with me if I am being too truthful.

Imagine that I am your doctor and you, as my dear friend become my patient. After investing and consulting, I find out that you have an advanced cancer, what would I do?

Would I be afraid to hurt you,

would I be afraid to ruin your happy life so far;

would I be afraid to being not protective enough to you and then I HIDE the truth from you?

Would I think that: God has been healing someone, let me pray and trust in God.

See what He would do for her/him, I have seen someone who did not even seek for clinical help were healed miraculously.

The best way is to pray for him/her. I should not tell you anything, because it will hurt your feeling.

If any others know what I think, they would say: “ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?! “

She/he would have to die!

Then look at what we are doing today? If any Christian you know, she/he is practicing serious sins and she/he might be unaware of that. Fortunately, You realise that problem.

You would be asked by someone else:

“Just trust in God and pray for him.”

“I don’t think it is good for you to talk to her, it is not good for your relationship with her.”

Some would even say ”If you love her, don’t hurt her feeling, don’t tell her the truth.”

This one is the worst “I have seen God use that kind of sins to bring good, so you might trust in God and say nothing. Just pray and trust in God.”

The worst of the worst is: “I cannot see the bible mentions it as a sin.”

What is the difference between us and the madness doctor then?

I wonder ,if apostle Paul, the early Church-fathers(English problem, I mis-typed God-fathers, I apologize.), Martin Luther , John Wesley, the puritans , and etc;

all the men and women who tried to live for a holiness life in Christ hear that,they would say ”ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?”

Do you realise that if you are the doctor, in the name of “love”, you hide the patients' condition, and later on the patient die.

How the law will judge you?

And what would you think as a just God would do, if He lets you see others who practicing serious sins, and in the name of “love”, you choose not to tell her/him?

Are you waiting for God’s punishment on her/him? Or God is a God who never punish in your mind?

because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.

(Hebrews 12:6)

We all know God is always patient and abundant in love, but He would not tolerate sins forever. It is not necessarily true that whenever we do wrong, He would punish us immediately. Sometimes He would not even punishes us and gives us chances and time to repent. But to keep this letter short, clear and condense, I would share how serious God’s punishment could be in the soon future.

This is my prayer:

Oh! God, please give me chance to do so, I don’t even know how to start to talk to those people.

I don’t even want to try. It’s been so hard for me. Please help me.

I wouldn’t will to try if I can give myself any excuses, because I am lazy and selfish.

Please help me, forgive me if I still can’t. I am a hypocrite. Grant me faith and repentance.

Or if you want, do what you did to Jonah. But please be merciful to be. I am weak. Amen

My siblings, I might be a hypocrite, but I have to speak out the truth. Please repent with me.
